Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham is awarded ‘Councillor of the Year’ by Fusion at the Berkshire Youth Celebration & Awards Evening 2018 held in Reading on 12 July.
“Thank you Fusion for this wonderful award. The Fusion programme helps to transition Year 6 pupils to Year 7, building their confidence and resilience. It has a positive impact on our young people and this in turn benefits the community,” says Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham.
Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham has helped establish the Bracknell Fusion programme in her ward of Hanworth, Bracknell. She believes the programme builds resilience and determination in vulnerable Year 6 and Year 7 pupils, helping them adapt to the important transition from Primary School into Secondary School.
The Fusion Project has been successfully delivering programmes across Bracknell since January 2014. It is a community programme which works with pupils aged 10 to 13 years developing confidence and leadership skills and involving activities and a social action project designed to improve an aspect of the immediate community.
Fusion is a partnership delivered and managed by Berkshire Youth with a vision to engage stakeholders to work collaboratively with young people in the community that they share.
