Royal County of Berkshire Armed Forces Briefing

7th June 2018 Posted in Community News

The Deputy Town Mayor Cllr Roger Meakes attended the Royal County of Berkshire Armed Forces Briefing on 5th June.

Cllr Roger Meakes said, “The cadet scheme was of interest to me as I was once an air force cadet under the tutelage of Sir Sydney Cams’ brother. I had the privilege to talk with the High Sheriff of Berkshire Mr Barker Esq, and Jenny Muddiman who is the Schools Cadet Expansion Officer. The Serfca scheme will hopefully engage with schools to gain interest of pupils and in the hope for pupils to become a cadet with a view to an armed forces career”
