Summer of Fun North Lake
31st August 2017 Posted in Community News
The final Summer of Fun event was held yesterday 30th August at North Lake, South Hill Park. Despite the forecast the exhibitors wanted to show their support and provide a variety of activities for children in the hope for dry weather. Bracknell residents came prepared in wellington boots and rain coats to explore the array of activities.
Town Mayor Councillor Clive Harrison also came prepared for the elements as he collected funds for his mayoral charities Triple A and Keep Mobile. Both charities held stalls to raise funds with raffle prizes and a selection of delicious cakes for sale. Councillor Harrison also enjoyed speaking with local residents and getting involved in the activities.
Children were able to get creative with various stalls offering arts and crafts, learn karate skills, and become vibrant characters with face painting. Birds of Prey were popular along with the inflatable fun, climbing wall, laser tag and learning circus skills. Fishing coaches were also on hand for one to one fishing in North Lake.
Unfortunately the weather beat us again and sadly we had to close the event early due to health and safety.
We would like to thank all those who have supported the events and those who attended. We believe it’s all about being part of something in the community, coming together to enjoy the area we live in.
