Committee Restructures

Changes to membership of some committees and working groups at Bracknell Town Council will refocus Council activity on addressing current issues. From time to time, the Council reviews its structure and makes changes of this kind. The last time was in 2019: there have been many changes in the way we live and the way we do things since then. The imitations of living with Covid will present new challenges, despite the success of the government’s vaccination programme.
The work on the Strategy and Finance Committee is expected to increase in a number of ways, including with greater Community Infrastructure Levy payments expected to come to the Council, and therefore more projects under consideration.
Recent climate events have underlined the need to make further progress on carbon reduction, so changes have been made to the Carbon Reduction Working Group.
The task and finish Mill Park Improvements Working Group sees additional local members added to the core membership.
“It is important the Council is in a position to be responsive to concerns raised by our residents. We also seek to provide development opportunities for our newer Councillors” said Cllr Chris Turrell, leader of Bracknell Town Council.
