Deputy Town Mayor Attends Boehringer Ingelheim’s Ground Breaking Ceremony

17th November 2015 Posted in Council News

Friday 13th may be unlucky for some but for Bracknell based pharmaceutical supplier, Boehringer Ingelheim, it marked the official commencement of construction works to expand their offices.

The ground breaking ceremony in Ellesfield Avenue was attended by Deputy Town Mayor, Cllr Ash Merry and her Consort Cllr Mrs Isabel Mattick along with Boehringer Ingelheim’s UK Managing Director, Professor Klaus Dugi and the Main Contractor, Herbert H Drew & Son.

The plans to redevelop the site involve a two storey extension comprising ground floor training rooms and staff washroom facilities with first floor meeting rooms. The design by GDM Architects and managed by Sawyer & Fisher, both Maidstone based practices, provides versatile accommodation – easily adaptable for this international employer’s requirements.

Deputy Town Mayor, Cllr Ash Merry said: “It is a great honour and pleasure to be here today to celebrate the official start of this project. Boehringer Ingelheim are excellent neighbours and we value their long and continued presence in our community. We wish them all the very best for the building works and look forward to seeing the building once complete.”

Boehringer Ingelheim UK Managing Director, Professor Klaus Dugi commented:”This is a significant milestone for Boehringer Ingelheim. We aim to create the best possible working environment for our staff and are always looking at ways to improve on the service and commitment levels we deliver to our patients. We are looking forward to having the team all under one roof.”

“We wish Drew all the best for a successful and timely contract.”

Herbert H Drew & Son Contracts Director, Paul Gillard commented: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim to deliver these new and improved facilities. The ground breaking ceremony was a great opportunity to informally talk through the plans and provide any clarity on the order of works. We look forward to building on our collaborative working relationship with Boehringer and hope to work on future projects in Bracknell.”
