Vellamo are a Finnish Folk Group who first visited Bracknell in 2016 for the 45th anniversary of the library building. The group returned to the town on 20th September and were greeted by Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham at the start of their performance at Bracknell Central Library.
“It is fabulous that our Bracknell Central Library is a thriving community hub and not just a place where you go to take out a book,” said Cllr Ingham.
This was the first time the group had seen the transformed town centre, which they thought was amazing. Vellamo are currently on their UK tour and are next moving on to London and then they are heading to North England singing their folk songs in Finnish and English.
