Free fun activities for families during lockdown

Family Learning Fortnight is a new free package put together by Bracknell Forest Community and Continuing Education to assist with remote learning during lockdown. It is a collection of fun activities families can enjoy together that aren’t complicated and don’t cost the earth!
Family Learning Fortnight is being hosted on Bracknell Open Learning Centre’s Facebook page and an activity will feature every evening from Sunday, 24 January, for two weeks. This will give you the inspiration and opportunity to plan an activity for the following day.
Cllr Dr Gareth Barnard, executive member for children, young people and learning, said: “Our schools are working flat-out to ensure that children can still access vital education whilst at home. We also know that parents are juggling supporting their children’s education with their other home and work responsibilities.
“This programme is designed to support this by providing activities which recognise the value of learning through play, with many designed to be completed by children without significant input from mum or dad.”
Heather Williams, Team Co-ordinator, said: “The bonus is that all our activities have multiple educational benefits, which we hope will provide parents and carers with guilt-free home learning projects that the kids will love doing.”
