Mayor’s Charity Quiz at South Hill Park (SHP) is a Sell Out!

On Friday evening, 7 September, 90 local residents gathered in South Hill Park’s Cellar Bar to participate in Bracknell Town Mayor’s Charity Quiz Night. More than £1260 was raised as a direct result of this event and the money will be put towards youth participation programmes at South Hill Park Arts Centre.
Two South Hill Park youth ambassadors Josh Shortland and Elena Ingham took on the role of quizmasters. Josh Shortland is a leading light of the SHP summer school production: Jungle Book where he played the role of Baloo Bear, a big bumbling bear who dominated the stage with his performance. Elena Ingham is a keen versatile performer who played a number of different roles in the Jungle Book and has performed in the West End at The Sadlers Wells Mardi Gras Festival. She regularly attends the South Hill Park weekly arts drop in sessions for eleven to seventeen year olds.
“It is very important that local residents have been able to experience first hand such fabulous ambassadors for South Hill Park’s Youth. We are delighted by their performance and exceptionally pleased to have raised a significant sum for South Hill Park youth programmes through such an enjoyable event,” says Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham.
South Hill Park youth learning and participation programmes help local young people to build resilience and grow in confidence. Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham is supporting three youth participation programmes: 11/17 youth drop in sessions for those wishing to explore the arts, MOLE for 14-24 year olds to spread access to the arts amongst primary school children and Wilde About Arts for our more vulnerable youth including children looked after in Bracknell.
The Mayor’s next big fundraiser will be a Celebration Dinner on Friday 1 March at South Hill Park. Tickets can be booked via the Box Office or online at southhillpark.org.uk.
