Message of Sympathy for Leverkusen
Bracknell Town Mayor sends message of sympathy to Leverkusen following flooding.
Cllr Sanjeev Prasad, Mayor of Bracknell Town, has written to Oberburgermeister Uwe Richrath, Lord Mayor of Leverkusen, to express sympathy following the recent serious flooding near Bracknell’s twin Town. The mayor’s letter said:
Dear Lord Mayor Uwe Richrath and all our friends in Leverkusen,
This comes as a shock for all of us from Bracknell who are in close contact with you even as recently as a couple of weeks ago when we were together online.
Our heartfelt condolences to all those who have suffered loss of life in Germany.
This is an unprecedented situation across Europe and impacts lives and property at our local level in Leverkusen twinned with Bracknell. At this tremendous time of stress we extend best wishes for a speedy recovery from this disastrous event and wish Bayer the very best in contributing to disaster support.
As we have connected online and got closer to the individual members of the Twinning Association I extend from our Bracknell Town Council and all it constituents a message to individual members to help and support each other.
Mayor BTC, Cllr Sanjeev Prasad
The Mayor said: “The shock of this serious event is brought home vividly when we learn of who has been affected, especially when it involves friends who have made Bracknell people welcome in Leverkusen on twinning visits and who in turn we have welcomed to Bracknell.”
