North Lake Island Expansion

9th September 2021 Posted in Community News

This week works are commencing at North Lake for the expansion of the island at the Southern end of the lake. There will be the importing of existing local natural resources to the North Lake area which will be used to expand the island.

The island expansion is being introduced to create a narrower water inlet which in turn will create more oxygen for the fish by creating a faster water flow around the lake. The island will also create a quieter area providing a natural habitat for the fish to spawn peacefully.

During the works heavy machinery will be operated with care but please be mindful that there will be some disruption to the Southern pathway.

There may be some discolouration of the lake after the expansion due to soil settlement and the natural tannins from the logs being used.

The works will run for approximately 2-3 weeks and any repairs to the grass being completed after the work is finished.
