PAWS Traffic Light System North Lake
21st August 2018 Posted in Community News
The ‘Traffic Light System’ used at SHP is to reinforce the conditions already in force at the venue, particularly in relation to dogs being exercised off the lead around North Lake. It is has been used to remind dog owners and is similar to the Highway Code system.
Notices are displayed on the notice boards at each end of the lake stating that dogs are to be kept on the lead around the lake and are not to enter the water.
At South Hill Park dog paw prints have been painted around North Lake, the paths by the car park and by the marsh land/nature reserve.
RED – Dogs are not allowed in red areas. These include North Lake, the bank side between the footpath and the water’s edge and the children’s play area.
AMBER – Restrictions in place. Dogs must be kept on a short lead and under control to protect local wildlife.
GREEN – Dogs are allowed off leads, but please be in a position to control your dog(s) and follow the countryside code so that everyone can enjoy the park.
