What is Allowed?
- Barbeques
Disposable barbecues carefully used are acceptable but please place on bricks to avoid scorching the grass. A purpose built BBQ area is provided at Great Hollands recreation ground.
Permitted
- Bouncy Castles and Inflatables
These may be used on Town Council property with the permission of the Town Clerk. Evidence of adequate public liability insurance cover must be provided.
Not permitted inside or outside of our halls for hire.
- Dogs
All our sites are covered by dog control orders. Environment Wardens have the power to warn or fine offenders for dog fouling.
Dogs must be kept on a lead within 100m of all lakes, ponds and watercourses. They are not permitted in Larges Lane cemetery or within the fenced play areas.
- Fitness
Outdoor fitness groups
Must apply for permission from the Town Council and provide Public Liability Insurance
- Geocaching
This is a real world outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices.
Geocaching can be hidden on our land with our permission.
- Golf
Golf or play practice
Not permitted on any of the Town Council’s play areas or green spaces.
- Metal Detecting
This is rarely permitted on our land.
Permission will only be granted for archaeological purposes.
- Motorbikes and Mini-Motos
Any type of motorcycle, scooter or mini-moto
Strictly forbidden on any recreational area, woodland or green space.
- Parking
Park users, and match days
Please use designated car parking available and avoid parking on grass verges or residential streets.
- Remote Control Models and Drones
Flying model aircraft and drones, and use of remote control model vehicles and boats.
Prior permission must be given.
- Smoking
All of the Town Council’s properties are smoke free.
Park users are asked not to smoke within the fenced play areas provided by the Town Council.
