School Writing and Art Competition to Commemorate WW1

Working with The Royal British Legion, Bracknell Town Council are delighted to be able to invite you to participate in a Creative Writing and / or Art Competition to commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1. Although Bracknell Town Council is leading this project, The Royal British Legion are supporting it and have helped advise and plan the event.
To mark the end of the centenary of the First World War, we’d like to invite young people aged between 9-18 years old to be a part of this historic moment by creating an expression of poetry that says ‘Thank You’ to the generation that served, sacrificed and changed our world.
Every child who takes part in the competition will receive a personalised Certificate of Commendation, to thank them for playing their part in commemorating the centenary of the First World War.
At the end of the project a book containing the poems will be made, if enough interest is generated then it could be published which would be a lasting legacy of remembrance. The poems and / or artwork need to be submitted to Bracknell Town Council by 1st October .
