Twinning Visit

On Friday 9th June, we were pleased to welcome the chairman of Bracknell Twinning Association Councillor Mary Temperton along with local residents of Leverkusen, Germany and their hosts to the Council Chamber at Brooke House for tea and cake after their visit to Ocean House to marvel at the Bracknell regeneration.
A warm welcome was given by Town Mayor Councillor Clive Harrison and Town Clerk Jackie Burgess. Renate Buchwald, of Leverkusen and the Town Mayor began the merriment by cutting the Leverkusen emblem cake, discussions soon began of the services and facilities Bracknell Town Council provide and the use of the Council Chamber.
A display of Bracknell’s history shown in photographs was presented to illustrate how Bracknell has changed over the years.
The Town Mayor Councillor Clive Harrison concluded the visit by thanking the people of Leverkusen for their enjoyable time and wished them well for the remainder of their trip with Bracknell Twinning Association.
Bracknell Twinning Association works with the Freundeskreis in Leverkusen to arrange regular visits to their partner towns and in particular to facilitate exchanges between local interest groups, schools and sports clubs and for work experience.
