Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham joined hikers for a one and a half hour walk prior to the start of the traditional Wassail at Jealott’s Hill Landshare on Sunday January 27th.
Wassail comes from the Norse phrase meaning ‘good health’. It involves a procession led by the Holly King and Oak King, singing, Morris dancing, ceremonies and much making merry!
“What an invigorating and joyful day, I look forward to joining the festivities again next year,” said Cllr Sandra Ingham.
The six acre Jealott’s Hill horticultural garden is supported by Bracknell Town Council, managed by volunteers and powered by a mission to use the power of gardening to positively change the lives of people.
